Performance

No performance changes have been made to the Sorento for the new model year. As with the 2017 model, the 2018 version comes with a choice of a 185-horsepower four-cylinder engine, a 240-hp turbo-four, and a V6 that gets an impressive 290 horses and increases towing capacity from 2,000 to 5,000 pounds.

Appearance

You won't notice any apparent differences between the 2017 and 2018 Sorento models. One change for 2018 is the automatic addition of a third row when you opt for the LX model with all-wheel drive. In addition, headlights and front headrest designs have been tweaked for the new model year.

Features

The Sorento gets new standard safety features for 2018, including automatic headlights and a rearview camera, which were previously optional features on the base model. Kia is also offering a new options package for the LX model; the Cool and Connected group features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration along with dual-zone automatic climate control.

New features for the mid-range EX trim include a 7-inch digital driver information screen, power folding outside mirrors, power liftgate, and auto-dimming rearview mirror SX and SX Limited trims also get this upgraded rearview mirror along with standard rain-sensing windshield wipers.
